Marblehead, MA is one of the most charming towns in America. It features the largest historical district in the nation with homes and buildings going back to the 1700's. It the birthplace of American Yachting and the country's first yacht club still resides there. It has one of the most scenic harbors anywhere with 2,000 moorings of mostly sailboats. It's also the home of the painting "The Spirit of '76" (aka the Fife & Drum painting by Archibald Cox). It's the birthplace of the American Navy commissioned by George Washington. George Washington not on slept here, he partied here with Lafayette after the Revolutionary War. The men who rowed Washington across the Delaware were from Marblehead. It's also the birthplace of the US Marine's Aviation, the first airplane bought and flown was made here.
With it's scenic harbor and ocean views, and beautiful historic homes and buildings, fresh sea air, great restaurants and shops, Marblehead is a must visit location for everyone.
