I have lived here over a year, and Prescott Valley does have benefits over the big city (clean air, low traffic, etc.) but beware! i would think twice about starting a retail business here. There is a segment of the population which is very poor, and a way of thinking that you can't make any money here.
The lower paying workers seem to make it so (the trap). Also, many of the local businesses are operated poorly, so the residents (including Prescott) make many of their larger purchases in Phoenix, which drains the local economy further. Something else, the government here is more to be feared here; it is a misdemeanor to violate a zoning law in Prescott Valley, and you could be charged with a misdemeanor for speeding in Arizona. The Town's laws are sometimes mis-interpreted by town officials which magnifies the problem. Prescott Valley: A good place to live with some warnings.
