My family moved here when I a kid in 1985. The Postman rode a bike with a basket on the front to deliver mail. Main Street was rarely busy. The Population then was approximately 2,100. A new three bedroom 1300 sq. ft. home costed about 30k dollars. 2020 population: 3,300. Price of that same 1,300 sq. ft. home: 150k to 200k dollars. Average income is around 30k annually. Many people must commute for work. I had to commute 100 miles round trip for work. There are few places to rent here; of those, a house can be pricey. There are about a half dozen small two bedroom duplexes in Manti. Their monthly rent approaches about $900.00. Building lots are nearly full; except for the fairly recent subdivision outside Manti City proper, but they are priced quite high. At this time, the only one I can see available in town is a .75 acre lot for $80,000. By comparison; my parents lot was $4,000 in 1992, and I bought one for $8,000 in 1996, and one for $12,000 in 1999. I sold both shortly after Read More
