Small town, outdoor fun - 7/26/2017
As of 2017 population is ~10k. Have a talk to the barber to learn the goings on. Lots of farms and ranches. Most homes on 1 acre lots.
In my opinion most are not tech savvy or wealthy and are here because of low cost of living, simple and nice people, and peaceful life style. Plenty of state land and trails to walk, hike, and bike. Very dog friendly. Several lakes to play on and creeks to walk through.

Monsoon July-Aug so very IMPORTANT to view flood maps to learn if your home, property, and road is on the water drainage flow. Often not a problem but knowledge is important. Some backyards are underwater during Monsoon. After saying the above I like the monsoon weather but that is me.

Most food, clothes, hardware and other shopping options are just 20 min away.

best place to live for easy going life - 4/7/2017
Chino Valley, Az is the best place i have ever lived. i have lived in 5 states in the West and have never had such a great laid back life as we do here. Everyone is super friendly. We have a lot of California people that move here to get out of the rat race. Housing is very reasonable compared to other parts of the west. food is very inexpensive as Read More

Chino Valley - 11/28/2009
Chino has a very good climate, lots of shopping within 15 miles, many good eating places with in 15 miles. We have lived here 24 years and it is getting much more crowded, many more rules and restrictions, water which was very plentiful when we moved here is now getting scarce and restrictions are being talked about. Air quality is not near what it use to be. It's losing it's small town atmosphere, Read More

perfect for conservatives - 6/19/2008
Chino is all together too full of very conservative authoritarian followers. It also has way too many police. The town itself has only twenty thousand or so people but over thirty cops. Which means that usually they are just driving around waiting to cite you for driving over the 25mph speed limit that prevails throughout most of the town. Aside from that there is very little culture or entertainment. However, it has a great Read More

Paulden Arizona (North of Chino Valley - 3/1/2006
This area is growing fast. Those who were trying to get away from the rush, from California and Phoenix for example, are now pushing north. The area is developing fast. Moderate climate here. In Chino Valley and Paulden areas, usually snows some during winter but rarely sticks around. You'd have to go 25 miles south the Prescott for slightly longer term snow. Flagstaff is a little more than an hour north of our area, Phoenix is about 1 1/2 to 2 hours south and Payson is about 2 hours east. Laughlin, Las Vegas and Kingman are between 2-4 hours west depending upon where you're headed. Nice central location for experiencing various areas and Read More
