Great Place to Raise a Family - 1/17/2014
While best know for its Premium Outlets, Camarillo is a well-kept secret for a little town to raise a family. Camarillo is a small town with a very good quality of life and plenty of local things to do with the kids. Although it is a small town, it is perfectly situation where it is a 30 minute drive to Santa Barbara and about an hour to Los Angeles if you desire the big city getaway. Weather is perfect if you love the outdoors, beaches, camping, hiking and nature.
The only real negatives to Camarillo would be the housing prices, like most of California a pricey and because there are a lot of farms in the area, people with allergies should think twice about locating here. Very bad for people with

A wonderful place to live if you place importance on conservatism, family values and religiosity. This is definitely a mega-church enclave. Schools are pretty good but the state in general lacks funding for extracurriculars such as art, music and gym. You can't beat the weather as long as you don't need four seasons. Except for 1 month of the year, it is always warm and pleasant. A friendly, nice place to raise a family but beware, this is not the liberal breezy SoCal you might think it
