Too Windy, Wildfire Prone and Drought Stricken - 6/27/2017
Elizabeth Lake and Lake Hughes: We used to have beautiful lakes, and abundant wildlife. Now, we have weeks at a time when the temps are over 100 in the summer, we don't get normal winter rains, the lakes are dust, and wildlife has vanished. When I first moved here, I was kayaking all the time. It was like paradise.
My neighborhood has gone to hell, everyone parks outside the garage, sometimes as many as 10 cars to ONE house, and some people don't take care of their properties.
There IS interesting historical background and to its' credit it does have a nice country elementary school, The Painted Turtle, (from the Paul Newman charities for sick kids,) 3 so so restaurants, 3 convenience stores and a great little post office. But you will drive to the Antelope Valley or Santa Clarita for everything you don't order online.
It's politically conservative and not social for people of color. So I guess if all that sounds good to you, go for Read More
