I have lived and raised three children in Monterey Park since 1997. I chose to live here because it is a small and quiet town within range of busy LA. The city has a low crime rate and most reports are from outsiders breaking into homes. I live on the south side of Monterey Park that is a little more diverse. The homes are older and priced a little high because of its good environment, law enforcement, fire services, low unemployment and fiscally responsible government. The city is now going through a huge business redevelopment that will bring increased revenue and services. ok place, if your asian - 6/22/2008
Monterey park is not a bad place to live especially if you are Asian, I'm not...but It's a safe area to live in, in L.A. only 8 minutes to downtown very close to Pasadena which is very nice, and Alhambra, which is just a walk away, I probably would prefer to live there instead, But it is very expensive around here well...L.A. I don't know how people buy houses here!? and sometimes I miss seeing my peeps, or being able to talk to my neighbors, not allot of English is spoken around here, It can be very lonely especially when you have no family or friends, except my husband and my 3 Read More
