An okay area with access to much more - 3/3/2021
The City of Lafayette is trying to be attractive and desirable, so that's something. Being on the outskirts of Boulder and metro Denver has the benefits of quick access to many conveniences. Plus, it's situated so there are multiple entry points into the mountains, but those roads are busy usually, and understandably so. Not-so-great things about Lafayette is the water quality in deepest part of summer. The water gets funky tasting...dirt tasting. They claim it's safe & if it gets real bad, you can buy bottled water for a month or two. Also, a lot of growth is happening, and along with the existing traffic out of Boulder and up from Denver metro, traffic can be obnoxious at times. There's a lot of open spaces and paths/trails around, and Lafayette and Louisville do pretty good jobs of maintaining them...better than they do local streets, in fact. It's better than being directly in the metro, but not as good as being in a more rural
