What BestPlaces Users Say about Poinciana

Context:

Poinciana, Florida is a suburban town located in Osceola and Polk counties. It is known for its diverse population and relatively affordable housing. In recent years, Poinciana has experienced rapid growth, attracting many new residents. However, like any other place, it has its pros and cons. To get a better understanding of living in Poinciana, let's take a look at the experiences of different individuals who have shared their thoughts and opinions on the Best Places website.

"I have lived in Poinciana for 10 years now, and overall, it's a great place to live. The community is diverse and welcoming, and the cost of living is relatively low. The only downside is the lack of shopping and entertainment options, which forces us to drive to neighboring cities for those amenities." - JohnD (https://www.bestplaces.net/comments/city/Florida/Poinciana)

"I moved to Poinciana four years ago, and I regret it every day. The traffic is terrible, and the crime rate is high. It's not a safe place to raise a family. I've witnessed multiple break-ins and car thefts in my neighborhood. I can't wait to move out of this place." - EmilyS (https://www.bestplaces.net/comments/city/Florida/Poinciana)

"I love living in Poinciana. The weather is fantastic all year round, and there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy. The schools are also top-notch, which is essential for families with children. The only downside is the lack of job opportunities, but that's a common issue in most small towns." - MichaelT (https://www.bestplaces.net/comments/city/Florida/Poinciana)

"I've lived in Poinciana my whole life, and I wouldn't have it any other way. It's a close-knit community, and everyone knows each other. The cost of living is reasonable, and the people are friendly. However, the town lacks diversity, and there isn't much to do here for young adults." - MariaG (https://www.bestplaces.net/comments/city/Florida/Poinciana)

Overall, the majority of users on Best Places have positive experiences living in Poinciana, highlighting its affordability and close-knit community. However, there are also some concerns about the lack of amenities and safety issues in certain areas. It's clear that living in Poinciana has its pros and cons, and it ultimately depends on individual preferences and priorities.

Horrendous Traffic, LA has nothing on this. - 4/26/2006
I like my place in Poinciana quite a bit, it's pretty far removed, but had I known that the traffic in and out was so horrendous I would have kept looking elsewhere for a place to live when relocating to Central Florida.

I along with EVERYONE else has but ONE route North to Kissimmee and the Metro Orlando area. Pleasant Hill, which splits into the equally-annoying (two-lane)Poinciana Blvd, is really the only route in and out. There is a nature preserve and swamps and large lakes all around, presumably preventing better access, yet that doesn't stop the ENDLESS housing developments from being built, adding more and more commuters to the worst bottle-neck I've ever had to navigate. I nearly get run over by dump trucks EVERY DAY. Congestion is SO bad, I've never seen anything like it, and I've driven often in NYC, LA, and Atlanta, Chicago, etc, and have never experienced anything close to as frustrating as is my daily commute from Poinciana to Orlando.
