SperlingViews - Buford, Georgia

As a former New Yorker (Long Island) it took a while to get used to NOT waiting on a long line when you go shopping or out to dinner or the DMV. Driving around in my neighborhood's rolling hills and many horse farms are a delight. During local trips i'll see lots of deer, cows, emews, goats, even sheep farms! Beautiful homes that run into the millions and some trailer parks. I embrace it all. Just ten minutes away is the magnificent "Mall of Georgia". Just Beautiful! Lots of very friendly people, and we always run into many many New Yorkers. The city of Atlanta has a varied choice of where to go and what to do or see such as, The Aquarium, the Zoo, tour CNN, Stone Mountain, lots of fine dinning, all within an hour or less!(mostly less)from here. Low taxes help too! Yes the summers in Atlanta can be very hot, its a little cooler up here in the foothills of the Great North Georgia mountains, To top it all when i step onto my back porch at night i love seeing all the stars! not "light Pollution". Still, i do miss the Atlantic Ocean i grew up on, my family and friends. But,Lovely Savannah is a four hour drive from here. Lake Lanier (very pretty) and its beach is only fifteen minutes away. After three years i do feel i made the right decision following my daughter here. Very Country with all the amenities i had back in New York.[read more...]

I'm From Buford, GA and the crime here is worse than alot of big cities in most places of the city. Ya'll must be down there taking the crime index of mill creek by the mall of GA come uptown and horrible things happen.
