Lombard was convenient for me in that the village has several main highway systems that take you to points east/west or north/south. Highways include I355, I294, I88. Major roads include RT53, RT 83, RT38, RT64. This network of roads and highways allowed me to travel in any direction since my job as a consultant took me in all directions. There is also a network of commuter rails that allow one to get to different towns and even into the city - Chicago.
