Marquette is a college town, and the majority of the population for most of the year is college students. There are some things to do here, but if you come from a bigger city, Marquette will be a shock. It is a small town, where the mail man says good morning and people you don't know say hi and make eye contact. It's nice. On the other hand, a number of things are very limited. The restaurant options are limited, though for a small town I guess there's a lot. There is music to see if you don't want to see any major bands. the real draw to living here is spending time outdoors. Some of the most beautiful wilderness is here, and the landscape is very different from the rest of Michigan. This area is heavily influenced by old glacial activity and we of course have gorgeous Lake Superior, which is like an ocean when you're standing beside it.
