Think Twice! - 8/19/2011
Nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there. The welfare mentality is prevalent among many of the locals. The hospital and urgent care are sub-par in quality. On the Cusp of Climate Zones - 3/4/2008
What makes Taos a wonderful place to live or visit is the fact that it sits on the cusp of such varied climate/terrain zones. From the center of town you can drive 20-30 minutes in different directions and find: sage brush desert, high alpine mountains (Skiing), the Rio Grande Gorge, Grassy meadows and rolling hills, Historic Towns, hot springs, etc.
