Too many restaurants and fast food joints. Lots of new housing being built, trailer parks and home of MCAS Cherry Point. Small businesses here and there, but that will change since they just put up a Walmart. Cost of living is cheap. Lots of places to hunt and fish. It's a small town, takes about 5-10 minutes to drive right through it on HWY 70 depending on the traffic. People usually drive outside of Havelock to do most anything.[read more...]

An easy place to live. - 6/24/2006

It is easy to live in Havelock because the crime rate is low therefore you feel safe, a Craven Community College is here and other community college's are within a thirty minutes drive, an assortment of arts entertainment is available with a forty five minute drive, you plop on your beach blanket after a twenty minute drive, plenty of golf and tennis and baseball and school athletics are available too.
