Loving Life In Wake Forest, NC - 7/12/2014
Relocating from New York City three years ago took some adjustment and once settled in Wake Forest I was able to breath a little bit easier. The pace is something you immediately notice...you are not racing from subway or train, clawing your way up from under-ground into your office-in-the-sky in Manhattan. Here in Wake Forest you are going to hop in your car, leisurely drive to your office, probably stopping for a coffee at one of the local establishments and arriving to work, calm, cool and collected to start your day, it's a big difference. We have wonderful, parks and greenway's to enjoy the beautiful weather, walking paths and a darling Historic Downtown area that begs you to come "sit a spell" You had better get used to the extra "sweet tea" because everyone will offer you a cup; that's what we do. We are perfectly located just 25 minutes North of the capitol building in downtown Raleigh, 2.5 hours from the coast and 3 hours to the mountains, so if you really wanted to be at Read More

Great Place to Work and Live, BUT... - 10/15/2010
The Triangle is a great place to work and live, more reasonable than the North but more expensive than most places in the South. We live in a beautiful development-Heritage, which has various neighborhoods with a golf course and pond. But there does not seem to be much to do here unless you are into college sports; there are no amusement parks, water parks, zoos or other "crowd pleasers", for that you have to go to Charlotte or Virginia. I am very unhappy with the Wake County school system; they bus the kids all over the place to achieve economic and socio fairness-my daughter went to a horrible school last year, the School Board voted to end this practice but a group spearheaded by one board member did an end run and they have caved. Next year, they will go back to the practice of bussing. I do not intend to be here for that. MDH is a consultant, right now based in SoCal, we can live anywhere, we are looking for a new location.  Read More
