Best Town - 12/19/2010
I have lived in El Reno, Ok for 44 years. It is a very nice town to live in with alot of events going on throughout the year. It is not a perfect town, we have had our share of crimes but that happens everywhere. Overall, it is a cool town to live in and low cost compared to others. El Reno is only 20-30 minutes west of Oklahoma City making shopping even more convenient. Check us out online to see what all is offered throughout the year and our history.[read more...] |

Cheap, if you can afford it. - 6/30/2007
Simply put, the cost of living is very low, and that leads to neighborhoods that are run-down and even decrepit in certain areas. My house sits on the edge of the best and worst that we have here. I fenced my yard well and stockaded; put in a nice and mean dog. I look out my windows on neighbors that are middle-class and scared of the low-class punks that sometimes walk the street; just passing through, we hope. The police will respond to calls of prowlers and vandals, but usually just a bit late to catch anyone. I haven't been hit with burgulary or violence since I learned to keep security tight.
If a low cost of living is necessary for you and you plan to raise children, I'm sure that you could do alot worse than El Reno, OK.
But if you are well educated and expecting upward mobility, you'll probably do better in the western states.[read more...] |
