Forest Grove livability - 6/28/2007

Forest Grove is a nice little town. It offers a local farmers market, quaint downtown area, and several community events thru out the year. The elementary and High schools are testing higher that nearby Hillsboro or Beaverton schools. There is needed improvement in the Middle School/Junior High. On the westside of town housing offers a beautiful view of the coastal range. It is in need of more available shopping options. That will come in time with the explosion of higher end housing construction in the past few years. It's a short 15-20 minute drive from Hillsboro.[read more...]

Unchecked growth - 12/29/2006

It appears that education suffers due to the actual ratio of students to teachers. Because the growth rate is not kept in check, this ratio will become worse (more students than the instructor can efficiently teach) in a very short amount of time. The city is having a very difficult time in keeping up with the un-checked growth as far as street maintenance, utilities (sewage, water, power), as well as education short-falls.[read more...]
