Duvall, Washington is a small town located in the northeast part of King County. With a population of around 7,500 people, Duvall offers a small-town feel with access to big-city amenities. The town is known for its scenic beauty, outdoor recreation opportunities, and strong sense of community. To get a better understanding of what it's like to live in Duvall, I have included and summarized several user reviews from the website BestPlaces.net.

According to user "John," Duvall is a "charming and welcoming community." He goes on to mention the town's friendly residents and beautiful natural surroundings. Similarly, user "Sarah" describes Duvall as a "peaceful and picturesque town." She also highlights the town's proximity to hiking trails and parks. Both John and Sarah seem to appreciate the small-town atmosphere and the opportunities for outdoor activities.

On the other hand, user "Mike" has a different perspective on living in Duvall. He mentions the high cost of living and lack of job opportunities as downsides to the town. He also notes that the town can feel isolated and has limited options for entertainment. However, user "Lisa" has a more positive experience, stating that Duvall is a "great place to raise a family" with excellent schools and a low crime rate.

Overall, the majority of user reviews for Duvall on BestPlaces.net praise the town's natural beauty and strong sense of community. While some mention the high cost of living and limited job opportunities, others see it as a small price to pay for a peaceful and family-friendly environment. It's clear that Duvall has its charms and drawbacks, but it ultimately depends on individual preferences and priorities.

Crime - or lack thereof in Duvall - 9/2/2008
We have a local paper that comes out weekly here in Duvall. The crime is pretty interesting. Things like - Someone left their front door open, police investigated, shut the door and left a note. - Kids out late at the park making noise, sent them home. - Fender bender on Main Street. - Construction crews working after hours, neighbors complained, police sent them home. - Occasionally we have a tipsy driver but the police handle them right away. Duvall is the greatest. We look out for each other and feel great doing so. When the power goes out during a big storm - everyone helps out. Thats the old way of doing things and thats one of the many reasons we love this Read More

Authentic Charm in Duvall - 8/6/2007
We moved to Duvall 4 years ago after living in Seattle for 8 years. It is true that we couldn't afford what we were looking for in the city anymore, so we looked outside of the city and were delighted to have found Duvall. We feel like we discovered a hidden gem. There is a terrific community spirit here, from the summer concert series down by the river, to Duvall Days, to Sandblast to simply strolling down mainstreet visiting the various shops, library or restaurants. It is a great place to raise a family. There is a strong local Moms Club and many wonderful activities/services available for children like Northwest Arts Studio, Duvall Performing Arts, The Wilderness Awareness School, Blue Sky Science Camp and Musikgarten just to name a few. And when we want to hit the big museums or the city, we are just a short 30-40 minute drive away. We know our neighbors and they know us. We love supporting many of the local organic farmers out here in this beautiful valley too. We feel like we Read More

Not that bad - 5/10/2007
Duvall is a nice, quiet, and safe community and only about 24 miles from Seattle. Yes, there are a lot of Microsoft employees living there, but they are mostly in the new developments in "new Duvall". The older parts of the city have a lot of friendly people that work in the town's shops, drive truck, or are tradesmen (painters, carpenters, etc.) that I've met while out and about around town.

As far as the last poster said that people are "too cheap" to live in Seattle or Bellevue, I don't consider it being cheap if you can't actually afford to live in Seattle and Bellevue. Real estate prices are nuts in the Seattle area and even prices in Duvall were a shock to me moving here from Read More

Dull Duvall - 4/2/2007
Just another Microsoft bedroom community with very little to do and almost no cultural diversity (basically your run of the mill white bread folks). The people are your typical Microsoftee types that want/need to be close to their mother ship (i.e., the Microsoft headquarters), but are too cheap to live in Seattle and/or Bellevue. There's not much at all to do with children and very limited community spirit.  Read More
