Unlike many areas in alaska that's dangerous; whether it's bears, wolves, blizzards or humans, south anchorage is relatively safe besides the occasional truck and loud car. The main attractions to alaska is that it's a place of escape and solitude. Once you enter alaska, it's like steeping into a new world where one won't judge you upon anything: especially your appearance and everyone is friendly as long as you actually talk to them. Unlike it's small size, it gives you big opputunities.
