Hanford, the largest nuclear waste storage fascility in the US, is a mere
30 miles to the North. The nuclear waste has been leaking from the tank
farms out there since the 1960s. Do a search on google to learn more. It
is a nice area but many believe that it is only a matter of time before the
nuclear waste leaks into the columbia river which runs right through the
city.
