Review of St. Augustine, Florida

Why does such a small town have so many homeless?
Star Rating - 6/12/2008
St. Augustine is a wonderful place to live on many counts--it's natural beauty and historic preservation, among others--however, why does a city with a population of approximately 20,000 have so many homeless on its streets? Granted, the economy is bad all over these days, but I've not seen this in other comparably-sized cities in Florida.

Hi I am from NY and looking into moving to St Augustine....visited once years ago and loved it. When I am looking into the crime stats though...except for a few zip codes...the crime seems to be very high. I'd like to know what you think. Also...while I have your ear...what about spiders snakes and coyotes and alligators....I am a big chicken:) thanks Charlene
