For crying out loud! The cost of living in the entire Tri-state area is high. Why pick on Valley Stream? The commute to NYC by the railroad is an hour, obviously longer if you take the bus and subway. There is an age old saying that if you can make it in NY you can make it anywhere. It seemed like you were looking to buy but everything is out of your price range. It could not have been that terrible if you were looking to buy. The rude people that you are referring to is the NY attitude, not limited to Valley Stream
