The weather in Springfield varies from one extreme end to the other. The summers are hot, with temperatures consistently hitting 100+ July - September, and 100% humidity. Prepare for lots of tornadoes and flash floods through spring and summer. Fall is beautiful, but it only lasts a few short weeks, and then the bitter cold of winter sets in. Lately there hasn't been a lot of snow, but ice instead. The great ice storm of 2007 was record setting, but there is always a great deal of ice and frigid temperatures through out the winter.
