While Lake of the Woods is a lovely place to live, the actual Quality of Life isn't much. There's no public transportation. Shopping is minimual at best and if you have teens the high school is almost an hour a way. Oh, and don't even think about finding a job close to home... there isn't much.
But, as I said it's lovely. Here at the lake there are things for the active and, say we say those comfortable financially, to do. There's boating of course, horse back riding, golf, pools, what they call beaches (ugh), the club house for food and drink. As I said, if you are comfortable financially you can be entertained.
You do have to go quite a distance for the movies, more interesting resturants, real shopping, medical needs and of course jobs, etc.
