Shreveport is a dying southern town. There’s really nothing to see here except a couple old casinos and rundown or shutdown businesses. Their local government is completely dysfunctional and the city struggles with the typical racist policies that keep people of color poor, uneducated, and locked up in the prison system that replaced plantations. The worst part is - the minorities don’t understand this because the majority of them can’t even afford an education. Public school systems are crap. It’s just a big mess and the local government owns this mess. Shreveport = poverty, high crime, gun violence, racism, corruption, poor performing public school system, population decline, urban decay, unimpressive economy, bumpy roads, failing infrastructure, dirty, polluted, and a few parks. I feel for these people that call this place home, because it doesn’t have to be that way. This is their governments doing. lazy and incompetent city management and unproductive city meetings will only make this horrible situation worse!
