Conservative Sheltered Suburbia
Star Rating - 4/13/2006
This is the epitomy of "suburbia", except everyone loves to drive gas guzzling SUVs. Everyone here loves to "support the troops", but they wont do anything beyond buying a 2 dollar magnet for their arab oil guzzling SUV. The schools are good, I will give this place that, but there isn't anything to do.

Churches are literally everywhere. I can't drive to school without seeing 5 different churchs, most of which are regressive and conservative. This is probably because Wheaton College is located here, the Harvard for Christians. Everyone is very conservative and very wierd. It's not unusual to see people walking in downtown wheaton with a backpack on the wrong way. Its a very wierd town.

If you happen to be very church going and conservative, you will probably fit right in. Us Wheatonites have what we call the "Wheaton Bubble", because wheaton is its own bizzare sheltered town. Saying something like "God doesn't exist" or even questioning the bible will get you horrific responses, as most students at my previous high school went on to go to schools like Moody Bible Institute.

The town life is boring. The only thing to do is drugs or church, or sit on the computer all day. Theres several coffee houses downtown, full of college students who believe god created the world in 7 days and is only 10,000 years old. If you fall anywhere left of hardcore conservative, you will be ostricized and harassed. You will not fit in and will abhor this town.

Politics and Culture go hand in hand, because if you aren't Republican, you are some heathen who supports giving tax dollars to crackheads and not racist, which to most people, is beyond comprehension, as most of this town is white, and the white people inhabiting it our biggots.
