No matter what anyone tells you about how great this place is..do not, I repeat..do not buy real estate here. If you have come from any kind of urban northern environment..you will be severely disapointed in the backward way of thinking that engulfs Charlotte...and as far as jobs go..there are none, they have been swept away along with the banks.
My suggestion to any, who want to get away from overtaxed environments like NY, FLA or others..is..rent first anywhere you go..and give it two years..also consider retiring where there is good culture sporting resources, boating, golf etc.
This was the biggest financial, emotional mistake I have ever made. Its up to me to try to warn you.
