MS is beautiful

I'll admit I have not spent a great deal of time in MS, but passing through and making brief stops, I find it to be a very pleasant place. I have lived in Buffalo,NY my whole life, but have always felt drawn to the deep south. I've done some research on the cost of living, quality of life etc in MS. It looks like a possibility for when I retire. As bad as the taxes are here, and as much as the South calls my name, I can't bring myself to relocate from somewhere I've lived my whole life. A lot of folks say bad things about Buffalo. Some of it is true, but there are certainly some good points about it as well. - This is why I form my own opinion on places and take others opinions with a grain of salt. Really, the only thing that concerns me about MS is hurricanes and tornadoes. I just can't imagine having everything I own destroyed in the blink of an eye. People who have been through this multiple times have incredible resiliance. Up here, the worst we get are blizzards every few years. Everything is back up and running in a week, tops. I'd also like to add that MS is appealing because it has kept its southern charm. Too much of NC, FL, and VA has lost this. Ok, I'm rambling and going all over the place. I just wanted to add my two cents as a northerner.
