Review of Portland, Oregon

Here is the lowdown on Portland..
Star Rating - 5/22/2011
I've lived in the Portland area for about 4 years. I have also lived in several other states/cities. Pros and cons... PROS- not alot of traffic usually, nature (trees, rivers, lakes, mountains, etc.), good public transportation and social services (except when you need an MRI or CT scan, not alot of African-Americans, affordable rents. CONS- corrupt and criminal police, judges, etc. Very sneeky spineless people everywhere. Rednecks and Nazi-types abound. Lots of gossip and shunning of unique people, and people won't level with you. Many evil sheep-people here. It comes from the ancestry of English protestant I think. Very snooty and snobby, but I still can't for the life of me figure out what for?? The women here are nothing spectacular but seem very impressed with themselves. Baffling! they are followers here. If you are a clone or a drone with no spine.. you will like it here. i lost a job due to slander from an unknown source (still don't know who the cowardly worm is). The place I worked for then lied to unemployment, prompting a phone trial with an U.I. judge, myself and the employer. Thankfully, the judge was one of the few decent public officials here and she stood firm to the truth and I won the case and recieved my benfits. Also, beware of the antagonists here! Neighbors and co-workers here have goaded me into confrontations, and then called police. I ended up going to jail because two weasel neighbors threatenned me and then filed reports on me together after I responded in kind. I love the rain, so that's a pro for me. But, the people here are mostly fraudulent waste.

Man. thank you. It is so comforting to here from someone like your self. I too have been in portland for four years, and agree, your assessment is spot on.

Although you mention list 'Rednecks and Nazi-types abound' as a CON, you mention 'not a lot of African-Americans' as a PRO. Seems like you don't consider yourself as one of those 'rednecks' or 'Nazi types,' but sure does sound like you are....

RH - Of course I'd have a personal issue with 'not a lot of African-Americans' as a PRO.... I'm African-American....

There are always two sides to every personal dispute, and you only give your side here. Without more details and context this is of limited use to outside observers. All populated areas have conflicts, so that can't necessarily be pinned on Portland itself. But I would imagine that the gloomy weather makes some people insular and weird. It's just a matter of knowing which cases are intrinsic to the people and/or climate, or random bad luck.
