Relocating to Texas

I am an African American single mother planning to relocate to the great state of TX in June 2013. I am trying to research the safest, kid-friendly and family oriented places here. I am a professional in the accounting/finance industry looking for a change from the hustle and bustle of Georgia. I would love information on rental properties and jobs as well.ANY advise or information is welcome.

You don't give much information as to what you want or where in Texas you are considering moving to. Just be aware that Texas is not an escape from the hustle and bustle, period. There is quite a bit of racism down here as well. Sometimes it feels like the twilight zone and I don't know if I'm in 2013 or 1950.

I was wondering why I didn't receive any responses to this. I am planning to relocate to TX as early as June 2014 (not 2013) and as late as September 2014. I have saved money and am curremtly looking for a job in Texas. I have one darling son.I have been in Georgia my ntire life and looking a change of scenery and a break from the hustle and bustle.
