Woodruff County boasts 4500 residents spread out across 261 square miles to create one of five dry counties designated within Arkansas borders. This county was settled by William Woodruff in 1840 who later went on to become the first printer & publisher for the newly formed state’s newspaper at which time he gave name to his own region before it became officially established 6 years after his arrival there with Augusta as its official county seat having first been chartered back then & now both still stand proud among wooded hillsides like monuments returning each visitor back to these pioneering roots no matter what season they find themselves traveling through here during their stay.
