Love County holds its place in southern Oklahoma and was formed shortly after statehood on 7th November 1907. Its county seat is Marietta with many smaller towns including Thackerville, Oakland and Overbrook scattered across its 1030 km² (398 sq mi) expanse. As of 2019 government estimates from the United States Census Bureau puts the population of Love at 8 616 people; making it one of the more sparsely populated counties operating within its state boundaries.
