Mills County is located in Central Texas and bordered by Brown and Comanche Counties. It was established in 1887 and today has a population close to 5,000 people who enjoy the natural beauty of this region’s rolling hills, wooded ravines, and clear rivers. The county seat is Goldthwaite where visitors can explore landmarks like E.L. & Waco Water Tank or tour several museums including the Chew Ranch Museum or the Rockerfeller Museum showcasing 19th-century artifacts from local farms and ranches. There are also plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy such as hiking along the trails at Bluff Creek Park or fishing at any one of three reservoirs located within the county limits.
