What used to be a wonderful place to live has turned into a hell hole.
The entire state of California has migrated here.
Here is what is going to happen here in Bend. It is fast becoming too expensive to live here as a retiree. They (your tax base) will move somewhere else they can afford without winter. That leaves, oh boy, the new college with a bunch of young people with no money....So if you think the roads and infrastructure are terrible now, just wait. There will be no money for anything to be repaired. There will have to be tax increases somewhere to pay for the lack of improvement and the upkeep. And, then there's the west coast earthquake. Are you ready?If you liked California and all that goes with it, you will like it here.
