Conway is the Best
I have live in quite a few places--California, Boise, Idaho, Honolulu, Minnesota, and presently Madison, Wisconsin. By far, I believe that Conway was the best place I ever lived. My experience in the city was nothing short of excellent. As a Californian, and African-American professional, I heard a lot of negative things from my parents who grew up in Arkansas. However, when attended Univ of Central Arkansas in 2001,I found the community to be extremely friendly from people at school, shopkeepers, my neighbors in my apartment complex, etc. The west end of Conway, where I lived, has beautiful and modern brick homes. People are more clean cut in Conway, versus the folks here in the midwest who have the nerve to joke about Arkansas. One thing I enjoyed about Conway was the low cost of living. As one poster mentioned, Conway Corporation is an excellent low cost city owned utilty provider. The biggest drawback of Conway was that jobs outside of the university, which is a major employer, are hard to come by in Conway. However, the city would be a great place to retire or own a small business.
