Nice place to raise a family We've lived in Massapequa Park for 6 years, and it's a nice place to raise a family. It's a predominately Irish and Italian town. Very few minorities - it's actually a bit strange in that respect. One thing about Long Island is that you rarely meet anyone else that has come from another area of the country, except for maybe Queens or Brooklyn NY. Long Island has it's own culture in a lot of respects and it takes some getting used to. Everything in Massapequa Park is convienient and pretty nice. Bottom line is that it's a nice place to live if you can get used to the Long Island culture - people are aggressive and at times pretty nasty.
