Too expensive.
Brentwood use to be a nice place to live 15 years ago. Crime is growing, houses are too expensive and old. Mostly foreclosures that are affordable but houses need a lot of work. It's a small city, growing but it is expensive. If you want something to do you need you need to drive or take the train for an hour to get to the city. Overall NY costs too much, and if you have a family it's not even worth considering it. I am moving soon to the South where I can afford a new home for less than 200,000.
