Closter, NJ is a small town located in Bergen County and it has a population of 8,373 as of the 2019 census. Despite its relatively small size, Closter is home to an array of local religious congregations. The town has two churches: The Church of the Immaculate Conception, Roman Catholic Parish and St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. The Church of the Immaculate Conception was established in 1923 and offers masses on weekend and holy days. This church also offers many other services such as marriage preparation classes, RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) classes, baptismal classes for adults and children, Reconciliation services, communion services for sick & homebound people as well as special music programs. St. Peter’s Episcopal Church is an Anglican parish that was founded in Closter in 1748 and is part of the Episcopal Diocese of Newark. This church holds regular Sunday worship services at 8 AM & 10 AM with Holy Eucharist Rite II service available at 5 PM on certain Sundays throughout the year. They also offer adult Bible study classes, youth ministry programs and various community outreach initiatives throughout the year. Both churches provide spiritual guidance to their members and offer many opportunities to be involved in their respective communities through prayer groups, fellowship events and charitable giving activities
