Yucaipa, CA is a small city located in San Bernardino County in the southeastern corner of California. It is known for its unique mix of mountains, desert, and agricultural landscapes. The politics in Yucaipa are centered around the local government and the policies that affect the community. The City Council acts as the governing body for the city, and is made up of five members elected by popular vote every four years. In addition to the City Council, there are other important political bodies in Yucaipa such as the Yucaipa Planning Commission which reviews proposals for new developments and makes recommendations to City Council; and various Neighborhood Advisory Committees which serve as forums for public input on local issues. The current mayor is David Avila who was elected in 2018. There are also numerous local political candidates who are running in upcoming elections. R if the Republican Party candidate won, D if the Democratic Party candidate won and I if the Independent Party candidate won.
