It has a vibrant and active political scene, with many local organizations and parties fighting for the benefit of its citizens. Steamboat Springs is represented by Colorado's 2nd Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives. The district is currently represented by Republican Joe Neguse. Locally, city government is made up of an elected mayor and four city council members who work together to make decisions that are beneficial to the community as a whole.
