Prairie County is located in east region of Arkansas with population sitting at 7671 people as recorded by the 2010 census. Its county seat and largest city is Des Arc while other cities include Hazen DeValls Bluff Hickory Plain McGehee Ulm North Woods etc. Prairie County was formed on April 16th 1846 taking parts from Monroe & Arkansas counties making it one of five counties created by the Arkansas General Assembly during Reconstruction era following Civil War 1865 -1866.
