Located in northeastern Mississippi, Monroe County is home to the stunning Natchez Trace Parkway and the popular city of Aberdeen. The county's history dates back to 1821 and many structures still remain from that era. Agriculture is the main economic activity with cotton, corn, soybeans, poultry, and dairy products being grown or produced in the area. There are also a number of historic sites scattered throughout the county such as Brices Cross Roads National Battlefield Site.
