Oregon County lies on south-west corner of Missouri and it is the 71st least populous county therein with an estimated population of 9,326 people according to 2019 estimates. This figure may appear small compared to many other counties statewide, but Oregon nonetheless remains considerably rural in comparison considering its size; total acreage standing at 543 sq miles out of which about 1.2% consists water bodies according to 2010 census statistics. Alton serves both its principal city as well as its seat or government but there are several other smaller townships within Oregon too that have been enjoying steady growth throughout these past few years.
