Its county seat is Halifax with other towns including Enfield & Scotland Neck- Halifax itself corresponds out to Halifax’s largest city aside from recognized country seat. This area had been created out of Edgecombe and Northampton Counties back in 1758 when local citizens petitioned for new administrative boundaries - posthumously named after George Montague 4th Earl Of Hallifax whose successful career within British Government continued late 18th century onwards. - - -.
