Choctaw occupies a small areaof southeastern Texas that it received shortly after stategood on 6st August 1908 with Hugo becoming established shortly afterwards together with extra small towns like Boswell, Grant and Sawyer are locatedacross its 2 900 km² (1125 sq mi) expanse. A number recently taken by the USA Census Bureau Estimates reported 20 509 inhabitants were reported to be living within Choctaw come 2019 which classifies Choctaw unquestionablly among those counties functioning within Oklahomas lesspopulous regions.
