| Quality of living in conifer Colorado - 6/12/2012
I have lived in Conifer for 34 years, it is a great place to raise children. I raised two boys here in these beautiful mountains, the community gatherings are great, our "END of SUMMER" party is held at my house annually and has been for the past 20 years. I love this community, we pull together .

We love it here. We used to think about where we want to go on our next vacation. We don't anymore -- we can think of nowhere better than our own backyard!

| Diversity Abounds - 7/6/2011
Colorado is a melting pot not only of culture but recreation as well.
Hiking, biking, skiing, climbing, majors sports teams of nearly every kind.
There is so much to do in Colorado. If you're ambitious or have "ants in your pants" you'll nearly anything here...with the exception of Ocean-front property...though we do have an Aquarium in the heart of Colorado.......walking distance from downtown Denver.

| Get out and enjoy the Outdoors - 6/1/2011
If you love to be active and enjoy the outdoors then Colorado will fit your fancy! If you love to experience a piece of every season then you will get this in Colorado! If you want to sit inside and watch TV then move to Texas!

| Sunny - 4/5/2011
Denver is one of the sunniest places around. Sure, it has some cold winters, but the beauty of Colorado in the sunshine outweighs it by far!

| Getting ridiculus - 3/21/2011
I love living here because there are thousands of things to do. People are friendly and despite the lack of cultural diversity, there is a lot of new, exciting stuff to be seen. Public schools are great. But there is a huge problem with the costs of housing. I have lived about an hour away from Denver for my entire life, and I have seen costs of rent/mortgage go up in huge amounts every year. A medium size house (3bed,2 bath) is often more than 350,000 where I live, and it's not really even a big town. And that is average. A peice of land that isn't in a suburb is even more expensive. Expect to pay at least half a million for any small chunk of dirt that is available- usually an acre or two. If you have the funds for a home, or can opt for a single room apt., Northern co is amazing. I just don't personally feel that it is worth spending the $.

| Colorado Too Pro-Development - 2/23/2011
For the last couple of decades, development, growth and population have overloaded the state. The rush to throw up flimsy unsustainable housing and chain store businesses has had far-reaching impacts that may take decades more to resolve.

| Wonderful Warm State (Thats people not Climate) - 8/25/2010
Colorado is very beautiful and green through most of the state. Its has the majestic Rocky Mountains running through it and they are so huge you can see them almost from anywhere in the state. Not only do i believe in its Beauty but also in its people. I can count on almost every experience with the social scene to be with kind warm friendly people that care how you feel while visiting and living here in this state. Even the stars visit Colorado for their old towns from the gold rush days and for their rustic ski resorts and light friendly social scenes. You could be a star like Goldie Hawn ans Kurt Russel and hang around our friendly people that know you like privacy and wait for you to make the moves to join in rather then harass you and stare making you not feel at home here. Having people like that care for our State just like we do makes me very proud. The fact that the stars not only come for fun but to own some of this grand land makes me very happy that we are not alone in knowing how wonderful this state is and how it gives back to its people. I feel its a finely kept secret and sorta feel I'm giving it away telling you how wonderful it is cause at the moment we don't have the over crowding that many states have nor do we have the huge price for living here. We get the best of both worlds, mild to hot summers but never too hot also cold winters for our skiing and snowboarding hobbies that stays on the mountains so long until spring but melts off the mountains to freshen our waters and fill or reserves without making our towns stay buried in snow through the whole winter.Yes sometimes after a hard snow storm (and the are beautiful also) our streets melt the next day our sun comes out our mountains stay covered in white bliss and we get to see the white caps from almost anywhere in the state! Wonderful Warm State!

| Colorful Colorado - 6/24/2010
I don't know what the Texas guy was talking about when he said that Colorado is boring and colorless. This is a state that offers a diverse community no matter which county or city you live in. It is a great state for those of you who like the "old western" type of life style out away from the City and once you get in to the city it offers a nice easy life for the hardworking American and is full of unique art, culture and aura. All and all Colorado is great if you want a simple life with diversity and friendly people.

| Colorado - 5/4/2010
Colorado is cold and I don't mean the weather. I happen to be in my mid 30s and 2nd generation Hispanic. There is a lot of discrimination in this state. They don't like Hispanic people. I find this very humorous because who do you think cleans the roads and builds houses, Hispanic people. I don't find myself here very long. The people here are very unfriendly. Don't get me wrong the natives are very nice, but the recent transplants are very stuck up and think they own everything. What is up with all of the Texans/Californians/Floridians? Too many people from other states that give you looks. I had a different perception of this state.

| Planning a move!! - 1/24/2010
WE are a family of four, two small children, planning to move to Colorado by late spring/early summer. We visited Colorado about 6-7 years ago and fell in love with the scenery. We are trying to narrow down our searches for the right town so any informational insight would be much appreciated. We currently live in Indiana now, love the outdoors(hiking, camping...) & musical scene has to be a must of the town (husband plays music), I currently work as a RN so close to medical facilities would be a plus. We are definitely searching for the right town to fit us for our new beginning!!
