| Oviedo Florida - 1/5/2010
The town of Oviedo Florida has grown quite a bit over the last 15 years. As the University of Central Florida grows, so does the community, due to it's close physical presence to the university. The pace of life has increased also do to the influx of youth to the community. Oviedo is a nice family community, not impacted by the tourist flow to the Orlando area. We are located within a half hour drive to almost everything Orlando has to offer.

| are you kidding me? - 11/8/2009
I moved here in 88 and have never felt at home. The wages are low, the cost of living has triplied in the last 5 years, you cant find a desent house for under 200,000, bums at every intersection begging, crappy drivers everywhere, uneducated rednecks and heat for 10 months a year. More of my co-workers and my family are planning exits out of this state ASAP.

| Moving from RI to Florida - 11/5/2009
Thinking of relocating from RI to Florida within a year. Have thought of the St Augustine, Palm Coast on the East Coast. Tired of expenses here in the NorthEast, pay 4600.00 a year on 180,000 house, excise taxes on cars every year, not so great spring and fall anymore, and the horrible winter which gets harder every year, not to mention the heating bills. Now I know everyone has a complaint about where they live, so you have to take alot with a grain of salt, but the Humidity here in the summer can get to me, the heat I can take, I know in Florida the summer is hot and humid all summer. Is there a "cooler" area in Florida, meaning is northern Florida better than the southern part. Do you at least get a cooler breeze by living near the coast? Advantages I think of moving to Florida,
1/ Cheaper housing, a house in flordia would cost double here, especially now
2/ No income tax
3/ Cheaper property taxes, although house insurance may be alittle higher, as expected
4/ No excise taxes on cars
5/ No more winter
Any advice or comments would be appreciated on florida vs the north, or the areas mentioned

| Brooksville, Fl - 10/29/2009
Is a good place to live if you are collecting social security and have no children. Far too many police on the payrolls. Lots of homes empty from over build. Walmarts all over if you dont steal to shop from.Lots of guards in Walmarts,Lots of cops to give tickets to speeders. Lots of restraunts if you have little money. Lots of government downtown doing nothing. Good schools that teach you for a job that will never be here. Lots of builders doing nothing. Lots of guns, easy to get shot by old person. Pack your bags Northerns

| October 2009 Why move to FLorida? - 10/29/2009
Real Estate prices are back to 2000 levels and its affordable to live in the sunshine state again. While condo prices are still soft, value homes are incredibly priced (and I am not a realtor!). I just bought a completely updated 4/2/2 home (with new roof, windows, baths, kitchen) with a pool for $145 in Ocala, FL.

| Fun In The Sun - 9/10/2009
I left Pennsylvania 36 years ago and absolutely loved the Florida weather. Now that I am retired and handicapped, I am so grateful that I do not have to deal with shoveling snow, ice and sleet. Life becomes difficult at this stage in life without dealing with the elements.

| Florida's higher education system - 8/8/2009
Florida's public and private community colleges and universities offer affordable and quality education. The choices are many. Public institutions are affordable and out-of-state students come here to take advantage of Florida's generosity, even when they pay a higher tuition as non-residents. There are many excellent private universities with surprisingly affordable tuitions for graduate studies, such as Saint Leo University, located about 30 minutes north of Tampa. The University of Florida has been rated as one the top 62 institutions of excellence in the United States.

| NO to Panama City Beach!!! - 7/21/2009
I moved here in February 2009 for a job. Initially, I was very excited, but after a month, I began to realize that I had done everything there was to do. I am going crazy and I can't leave until the end of the year. There is nothing to do here but go to the beach and sit in a bar all day. There is nothing here. I've made no friends and I feel completely isolated and alone. Great place for vacation, but think again before moving to a little beach town such as this.

| Florida beaches - 6/23/2009
Florida's beaches just can't be beat, particularly those on the gulf coast. Ft Desoto Park is one of the nicest beaches in Florida, but Siesta Key is also a great relaxing beach to spend time in.
