Maryland Cost of Living - 6/12/2006

Maryland's cost of living is quite high. This is only added to by the recent deregulation of utilities causing a 72% increase in energy costs. This is somewhat offset by the fact that jobs are in good supply and the state is relatively well run. Maryland's proximity to the ocean and mountains make it a vertable smorgasboard for outdoor activity.

Best Location - 2/28/2006

I love living in MD because I am not only close to DC and Baltimore (and I love the museums, theaters, restaurants, symphonies, etc) - but also because I am not that far from New York City (a FABULOUS city) or the Eastern Shore (Chesapeake Bay and Atlantic Ocean). I live in Woodstock - which is in the country - but I am 10 minutes to downtown Columbia, MD - and 20 minutes to downtown Baltimore - and 45 to DC. I also love being close to the Bay and the Ocean (1 hour to 3 hours drive).

Fulton, MD

humid, cold, but beautiful - 2/24/2006

We live in Fulton,a small farm community 1/2 hr from DC and 1/2 hr from Baltimore. It is very hot and humid in the summer and very cold and wet in the winter. However it is beautiful here and there is lots to do not too far away. Great schools, and places to eat.

Baltimore City - 2/21/2006

The state of maryland is where I believe, but I want to relocate to another area. Although Baltimore is rebuilding in their downtown area, they are not rebuilding in the inner city. The city has entirely too many boarded houses. Although I live in Baltimore City, the area I live in is the Morgan State area, which is fairly surburban in the city, with green lawns and townhouses.
