| Bikes - 10/6/2011
Lame duck Mayor is out of touch with the majority. Far too many bicycles crowding the roadways, causing hazards, slowing traffic and disobeying laws. A growing contingent of two-wheeled transportation in one of the wettest climates in the country. brilliant.

| Proud Texan gives up! - 7/10/2011
I live north of Dallas,TX and it was 106 yesterday! I joked to my husband that I was moving to Oregon to beat the heat and then got curious and started checking it out about 10PM last night. I am becoming obsessed and have already applied for three jobs and started shopping real estate. I have lived in Texas all of my life, but I think I am done! My grass crunches when I walk on it and my cats pant!

| Oregon is a great place to visit and to live - 7/8/2011
I love Oregon its a wonderful and beautiful place to visit. I live in Texas and thinking about moving to Oregon soon to get away from Texas heat and crime problems in Tx. Enough of Tx, what I like about Oregon is the weather, the weather is so comfortable from May to Oct and I have been there before a few times during those months. Its may rain a lot there from Nov to Feb but that alright because its what makes its beautiful there. The people there are very nice compare to Texas. There a lot of different kinds of tall evergreen trees everywhere in Oregon and very green. A lot of sight seeing and a lot of things to do like camping, hiking, and bike riding and so much more to do there. A lot of camp grounds everywhere. A lot of animals everywhere that you don't see very often in Tx. The ocean is very clear and blue but very cold but that what makes the weather very comfortable during the summer and early fall. Winter can be cold but not freezing cold all the time and colorado is much colder than Oregon. I heard people telling me that they are overall very happy living there. The coastal towns along the coast is really nice place to visit and great seafoods everywhere even other kinds of foods are great there too. Even the bigger cities like Portland and Eugene are very nice towns to visit and if you visit portland don't forget to visit the zoo and washington park and drive on skyline drive in portland that the most beautiful spot of town. Also the japanese garden is a very beautiful spot to visit. The waterfall east of portland was very neat to visit too and its about 15 to 20 miles east of portland and go on I-84 east and will find signs where to turn off to visit those hugh waterfalls. I will have to do more research on Oregon before I move to Eugene or Medford but i am pretty sure that where I want to move there in Oregon soon and my families loves it there too.

| The most beautiful place I ever seen. - 7/7/2011
I was visiting Oregon last month in the middle of June and its was a wonderful vacation and its was my second time I have been to Oregon. I have visited all the big cities and visited all the coastal towns along the coast and its was just beautiful, its so green and many differents kinds of tall evergreen trees everywhere. The weather was awesome very cool and a very few showers around but its wasn't long lasting showers, most of time the sky was partly cloudy to clear skies. While visiting Oregon I was also visiting northern California and its was very nice in Northern California but Oregon has nicer small towns along the coast, but I love those huge redwood trees in california. Oregon and northern California looks very much alike. Washington state was very nice too very much like Oregon. There is so much to do in Oregon for example, hiking, camping, bike riding, and a lot of sight seeing. I am thinking about moving to Eugene Or in a few years because I want to get away from Texas heat and drought problems. Texas has a lot of problems with crimes. Oregon may not be perfect but the crime is a lot lowered in Oregon. The people in Oregon seem to be so nice too and not like the people in Texas where they are rude and snotty here in Texas. Well I will have to visit oregon more often if I want to move there and this was my second time I visit Oregon so I feel good about moving there because I have already love it there. Oregon is probably the most favorite state I ever visited,California and Colorado is my second favorite state I visited. Its very likely I might moved to Eugene Or in a few years because of very nice comfortable summer. I understand that Nov to march can be very wet but that okay because that what makes Oregon so beautiful and green. I will visit Oregon again soon and I recommend for people to visit Oregon if they want to get away from hot weather and to see all the beautiful sight seeing and visit all the nice small towns along the coast. The western parts of Oregon has a lot of tall trees and very green. The eastern part of Oregon is drier with less trees but that far away from the coast and close to Idaho is Desert. So its very interesting to see all the different enviroment and how its change from west to east. Anyway I recommend Oregon because of cooler summer weather and a lot of things to do.

| Homeowner Associations - 3/15/2011
I bought in a new development, so the clubhouse and common areas looked great. I even read the CC&Rs and talked to some other homeowners in the area – with good reports.
After buying in the Ceres Gleann HOA in Dallas Oregon, I can state unequivocably that it is the worst real estate decision I ever made. The HOA Board of Directors doesn’t think it has to comply with the law, the CC&Rs or the HOA’s Bylaws – while at the same time assessing monthly penalties against homeowners that don’t toe the CC&R line. Just over a year ago, the HOA unlawfully charged about $600 to my HOA account which I refused to pay. Through the monthly charges for interest, re-billing and a bunch of attorney fees that the HOA will not provide detail about – the HOA has run my account up to almost $3,800. That does not include the monthly assessments - which I pay on time, even though promised services are not receiveed. And, even though what this HOA has done violates the Oregon Revised Statutes, the State of Oregon Department of Justice has advised a number of homeowners out here that the law prevents it from enforcing the statutes being violated by the Ceres Gleann HOA Board. The only way to prevent being victimized by an HOA is to never ever buy in one!

| Portland Oregon - 2/13/2011
I read reviews of Oregon. People who have moved here unhappy with the weather. A true northerner will love the look and feel of our home. Misty and green, soft and often grey. Quiet times for booklovers and intellectuals. Outdoor verdant green. I am surprised by people who come and then complain, what did they expect? Know before you go. As to those saying we are suicidal walking in front of cars. How sad that you can't see we are people who stop for walkers. We value the sanctity of life, we know others do too. That is why we walk out, we know we are safe here. It is unfortunate so many people have moved here though increasing the population to an uncomfortable size. It would be best if those who don't like the weather or the people, just not come. Of if here and unhappy, please leave so we can go on enjoying our lives. We love our home and always will.

Motorcycle riding, hiking, fishing, photography, camping, sightseeing, etc. We like to explore the area and learn about the history. It is all here.
The climate is moderate, and the air is clear most of the time.
Come on over and enjoy!

| STUNNING - 9/2/2010
Having lived in Texas(Austin and Hill Country areas/San San Antonio) - which will always have part of my heart, and Europe for ten years, I amazed at the incredible beauty of coastal Oregon. If you desire a simpler life, stunning coastal views, great people, decent schools, overall good quality of life then southern coastal Oregon should be given a good look at to live. Would not hesitate if your in a position to have a second home. If starting out and have employable skills making a decent living - then would give it a thumbs up. Maybe this is just me, but a small problem seems to be that some Caifornians bailing out of their failed welfare state have begun to populate this state, as well as other places in US and have brought their welfare state mentality with them. They often will have a snotball attitude about entitled services that they should get. Another down side is fishing and logging industry collapsed and area is in need of other sustainable industries. Unfortunately, veterans services are lacking like many areas in U.S. and telephone service can be spotty away from town. Get used to not pumping your own gas and seeing advertisements for medical marijuana(so what). Oregon has a state income tax, but no sales tax. It is a bit more expensive to live overall, but is so beautiful with lots of recreational activities. If you are in need of specialized medical services or see a health care provider on a frequent basis, maybe think twice. Oregon is a "green" state relatively with lots of liberal sentiments. Rednecks for Obama, for example. Keep Portland Weird origins were from "Keep Austin Weird". So all you blubbering crybabies whining about Portland and wanting to leave, wherever you go there you are - "AMF" as they say in Texas.

| Very accurate about how bad Portland and Oregon ar - 11/15/2009
My 2 cents.
After wasting sevral years in Portland I ouldn't have put it better. This i the MOST accurate description. Smart you e getting your family out of there.I have seen it best descibed as "neanderthal liberals'and they love noting else then to fight with everone about anything. This is the place where people whose life h stalled and refuses t budge. AMBITION is hated and you will be despised if you have a happy energized and active life. Never seen anything like it.I never socialised unless with newcomers from the eastcoast or midwest. they soon left too.Drug crime downtown is out of control. police drive by and do nothing. 7 blocks from City all 14 year old meth heads mae and female soliciting and beg picked up mostly by 60ish men. Reality checkMy. A guy was being beaten by a very nasty street/drug addict downtown mercilessy at 4:30 pm and peopl just walked by looking away. It was shocking. I ended my management transfer that week and moved back to the midwest. Not worth it. While in employ in Portlan in dining establsihment I hadto hndle customers of all walks, suits, wealthy, hipsters nd all esle constantly trying to get food, sides, drinks for free. I have never experienced this anywhe else. Disgusting andit is like a game there. DO NOT work in the low standrad food industry in Portland. I had food pisoning 4x the first 2 years. The first in al my 40 years elsewhere.
For a city full of old hippies they did nothing but fight, fight, fight. Real negative city.Very poorly managedcity with 100% amateursrs for polticians/governor, all. Portland is a left behind kind of place because they want it that way. Ugh.
