The beauty of the Michigan shoreline and natural resources in Michigan are great reasons to live here or visit. Many areas of Michigan are wonderful places to raise a family and Saugatuck/Douglas is one of the best! We have a safe environment, cozy communities, large number of churches for a small area, small school system that leads in Academics and Sports environment with fantastic teachers, restaurants & coffee shops, galleries and shops, and a center for arts and entertainment with quality metro-driven entertainment. This is a safe, family community. We are located on beautiful Lake Michigan. We are a community accepting of sexual orientation, with an integrated strong gay & lesbian population & businesses resembling large cities. We are a wonderful place to live and close to Grand Rapids and Chicago! Minuses: state unemployment, few employment opportunities in the area.
